Pay and Benefits
The minimum starting salary for an NQT for academic year starting September 2009 is £22,117 (which includes the fringe allowance). Some schools may recognise other work experience and offer a higher starting point on the main salary scale. Some schools may choose to pay salaries from 1st August.
Schools can also offer a recruitment and retention allowance and the amount is at the discretion of the school.
Other benefits available can include;

- some schools have workplace nurseries
- information provided about housing
- flexible benefits, such as BUPA membership, health screening, dental care, HSA, and child care vouchers
(Staff can elect to purchase these benefits at a competitive rate through payroll.)
